New York artist, Lori Baratta
December 14, 2010
New York artist, Lori Baratta, is both a fine art and decorative artist and illustrator with over 300 published designs including country, contemporary and fantasy themes. Her work has been reviewed in national publications and resides in private, public and governmental collections. It has also appeared on magazine, catalog and book covers, in addition to being licensed to other companies for use on their various products. She has also written several published instructional “How To Paint” projects for art supply manufacturers and art and craft magazines.
Combining both her love for animals and painting only seemed natural. When painting animals, it has been said of her work that “Lori not only portrays an animal realistically, but she captures their essence as well”. She offers a Donation Program through her business, available to No Kill animal shelters and organizations offering a portion of her portrait proceeds to them.
Basically self taught, she originally started painting in acrylics on wood and later took a few night courses in watercolour and oils, while also studying the use of pen and ink, pencils, pastels and gouache. Her artwork is available through her own company, framed and on notecards, and is available as commissioned original fine art portraits. She currently resides in upstate New York with her husband and assorted animal companions.
